Iran Opposition Leader’s Call for Regime Change Gains Moment

Supporters of the Iran opposition movement met in Paris, and we have some highlights for you here.
On Saturday the Iranian opposition held a very organized and massive meeting in a huge auditorium north of Paris. Members of the Iranian community outside the country gathered from five continents to support the Iranian opposition’s effort to establish democracy and freedom in Iran under the banner of #FreeIran.
Hundreds of political, religious, legal and military dignitaries were joined by human rights and women’s rights advocates delivered speeches in support of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its President, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, a Muslim woman believing in a tolerant and democratic Islam.
Considered quite significant in this year’s Iranian opposition rally is the launching of a new geopolitical era in the Middle East. This message was vividly expressed in Mrs. Rajavi’s call for regime change in Iran as the sole solution to resolve existing crises emanating from Tehran to the region and the world across.
“The only solution to free the people of Iran and establish peace and tranquility in the region is the overthrow of the Iranian regime,” Mrs. Rajavi said in her speech.
Rajavi’s call and the solution she delivered in Paris was supported and highly cited by the vast gathering and the high-profile dignitaries from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

Paris — A vast convention hall located north of Paris was the scene of a massive Iranian Diaspora gathering who voiced their demand for a better future through regime change in Tehran.

Hundreds of dignitaries from the Arab World, United States and Europe stood alongside the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its President Maryam Rajavi in condemning Tehran’s meddling throughout the Middle East as the main obstacle to establish peace and security in at least four regional states.

Saturday’s keynote speaker was Rajavi, who called on the international community to recognize the NCRI as the voice representing the Iranian people, evict Iran from the Middle East end the appeasement policy and welcome a strong strategy of standing shoulder to shoulder with the Iranian people’s call for regime change.

Regional support

“The Iranian people are the first victims of Khomeini’s dictatorship,” said Turki Al-Faisal. “Your effort in challenging this regime is legitimate and your resistance for the liberation of the Iranian people of all ethnicities, including Arabs, Kurds, Balochis, Turks and Fars of the mullahs’ evil, as Mrs. Rajavi said, is a legitimate struggle.”

In a sign of a united Middle East position in the face of Iran’s belligerence, numerous Arab delegations including many former and current officials from more than a dozen regional countries participated in the convention.

Iran Focus
London, 3 Jul - Ex-Scottish MEP and Iranian expert, Struan Stevenson, accused Iran of being the “godfather” of terror at a recent conference calling for freedom of the Iranian Regime.
At the Free Iran Gathering last weekend, over 100,000 politicians, activists, and heads of state came together to condemn the Iranian Regime for their support of terrorism and call for the freedom of the Iranian people.
Stevenson said that the world did not know fundamentalist Islamist terrorism until the Iranian Regime seized power until 1979, and now all of the different Islamist terror groups around the world are the result.
He said: “You have Daesh (ISIS), the Taliban, al-Qaeda, al Shabaab, Boko Haram, Hezbollah – they all have difficulties with each other, yet we categorise it in the West as a Sunni/Shiite conflict. It is not. All of these different [factions] who also fight like cats in a sack, they look to Tehran as the godfather of international Islamic fundamentalism.”
However, Stevenson expressed hope that this too shall pass.
He said: “When the Soviet Union collapsed, we saw communism fade away. There were a few pockets left, like North Korea, Cuba, perhaps Venezuela, but it has almost faded from the international picture. And if we achieve a regime change in Iran, I believe the same fate will occur to fundamentalist Islam – I think it will slide off the international agenda.”
The Paris gathering, organised by the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (MEK), the largest opposition movement in Iran, had the overarching message that the only way to achieve Regime change in Iran is to oust the current Regime.

The MEK, which supports a secular government, human rights, and a non-nuclear Iran, has long provided the Western World with evidence of the Iranian Regime’s crimes including a secret nuclear weapons programme, terrorist training camps, and the 1988 Iranian massacre, in which the Iranian Regime executed 30,000 political prisoners in just four months.
Last year, following the implementation of the 2015 nuclear agreement, the international community lifted sanctions against the Iranian Regime that had been in place since the 1980s.

Ousting the Iranian Regime Will Bring Peace to the Middle East and Freedom to Iran

London, 3 Jul - On Saturday, the Free Iran Gathering in Paris hosted a series of panels on how the Iranian Regime is the cause of war and terrorism in the Middle East and how ousting them will bring peace to the region and freedom for the Iranian people.
Peace in the Middle East
The Iranian Regime is the leading cause of discord in the Middle East; it seeks to destabilise the region through proxy terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah in order to swoop in and take power once the existing government has lost control.
Jamal Ali Jassim Bu Hassan, Member of Parliament from Bahrain, and Saleh Ghalab, Former Minister of Information and Culture of Jordan, both addressed the Iranian Regime’s interference at the Free Iran Gathering.
Hassan said that the “fascist” Iranian Regime has interfered in all Arab capitals, while Ghalab said the Regime has occupied capitals across the region.
Indeed, the mullahs boast of controlling the capitals of Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.
Mohammad Mohaddesin, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the NCRI, said that the Regime is frustrated because it is not succeeding as much as it wanted to in Iraq, where it wants to establish control in order to have a Shiite Crescent across the Middle East.
Paula Casaca, a former member of the European Parliament, told of how the Iranian Regime seeks to dominate first the Middle East and the rest of the world. He said Iran has already invaded Iraq and that they are most definitely not fighting ISIS in Syria.
Sheikh Matlab, a lawyer from Iraq, told of how the Iranian Regime infiltrated Iraq and occupied it.
He said: “In 2003, we expected to have a new Iraq but our country was occupied by the Iranian regime.”
He went on to say: “All the wars in the Middle East are because of the Iranian regime and its transgressions.”
Freedom for the Iranian People
Ever since taking over in 1979, the Regime has punished and demonised the people’s resistance (MEK) in an attempt to silence them but the Iranian Resistance has bravely persisted.

FREE IRAN GATHERING: ENDING TERRORISM STARTS WITH REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN

 Published: 03 July 2017
By INU Staff
INU - At the Free Iran Gathering in Paris on Saturday, a series of panels were held to discuss the ousting of the barbarous Regime and how this would end war and terrorism in the Middle East.
The official title of the panels was: “Clerical Regime’s ouster, end of war & terrorism in the Middle East.”
Iran Regime in the Middle East
The Iranian Regime likes to destabilise other nation states in the Middle East in order to take power, when tensions are at their height; that way the Regime can look like a stabilising influence in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Struan Stevensson, former European lawmaker and President of the Friends of Free Iran Intergroup, spoke of how the Regime seeks to destroy the middle east, how it has levelled cities in Iraq and massacred thousands of Sunnis across the region.
While Jamal Ali Jassim Bu Hassan, Member of Parliament from Bahrain, explained that the Iranian Regime has been incredibly damaging to Bahrain.
He said: “No other regime has done greater damage to Bahrain, as has the Iranian Regime.”
The Regime uses proxy militias, like Hamas and Hezbollah, in order to look like their hands are clean.

MEK's Role in Iran and How It Can Help the Global Peace?

Iran Focus
London, 2 Jul - Experts and scholars, prior to participating in #FreeIran gathering, joined a panel discussion, held in Paris to discuss the current social-political situation in Iran and the role of the Iranian opposition (MEK) in this regards. The meeting was organized by the “Foundation for Middle East Studies (FEMO)”, and the “Alliance for Public Awareness, Iranian Communities in Europe(APA)”. The panel was moderated by Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield, former Assistant Secretary of State for Military Affairs, who was joined by Kenneth Blackwell, former US Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, Linda Chavez, Founder and Chairwoman of the Center for Equal Opportunity and former White House Public Relations Liaison, Ramesh Sepehrrad, scholar practitioner from George Mason University in the US, Robert Torricelli, Member of the US Senate from 1997 to 2003 who also served 14 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, and Mohammed Alsulami, head of AGCIS and expert on Iran.
Ramesh Sepehrrad, the first speaker in the panel, who had focused her research on Iranian affairs, political governance, human rights, gender equality and U.S. policy, said that she once led a study of opposition groups to see where the core argument is. She found that the role of the Supreme Leader, the role of women and gender equality and democratic views were core issues when looking at opposition groups. For these specific reasons, the MEK and NCRI stand out.
Sepehrrad highlighted that this is not just in relation to rhetoric, but in particular with regards to action taken. She said that these opposition groups engage with the people of Iran on a day to day basis.
She said that the NCRI is popular inside Iran. Obviously, this is not something that can be easily checked by doing a poll or carrying out a survey because of the Iranian regime’s extreme reactions of violence when faced with dissent. There are countless cases of people being punished when they are discovered to be supporting the opposition. However, she said that the popularity of the NCRI can be gauged when participation at major events is analysed. Supporters of the NCRI/MEK are present at the right place, at the right time, posing questions the source of which are none by the NCRI/MEK. Supporters of the NCRI/MEK risk everything to stand up to the regime. Young people, old people, women, students – everyone will question the regime.

Prince Turki: Iranian officials must be ‘brought to justice’

Majid Rafizadeh |
PARIS: Tens of thousands of Iranians gathered in the giant auditorium in Villepente Exhibition Center, near Paris, on Saturday in a massive expression of support urging the world to adopt a firm approach toward the theocratic regime in Iran.
The gathering featured a large and varied selection of speakers from all over the world and across the political spectrum, including Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal and a large delegation from the Syrian opposition.
Addressing the conference, Prince Turki Al-Faisal called for Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian officials to be brought to justice for their “crimes against the Iranian people,” who he described as the “first victims” of the Iranian regime.
He said he was “honored” to be at the event, which was attended by thousands of people who fled “their country because of the dictatorship of the Mullahs’ regime.”
Prince Turki explained that what made Arabs and Iranians brothers, was “not only geography, but the humanitarian relationships.”
He added: “There are Arab tribes that lived in Iran and became families, and there are a lot of Persian families who came (to Saudi Arabia) to perform their pilgrimage and also became our families.”

Turki al-Faisal: Iran is the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world

Staff writer, Al Arabiya EnglishSaturday, 1 July 2017
Prince Turki al-Faisal, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Islamic Studies, said in his speech Saturday at the Iranian opposition conference in Paris that “the Iranian government is the greatest sponsor of terrorism” in the world.
Al-Faisal said, “Khomeini sought to export revolutions and coups to the region.”
Al-Faisal stressed that the Iranian elections are undemocratic and illegitimate because Khamenei appoints the candidates, saying, “the behavior of the Iranian regime does not qualify it to be a democratic system.”
Prince Al-Faisal said, “Officials of the Iranian regime should be presented to the International Criminal Court.”
Several figures who participated in the Iranian opposition conference in Paris called for supporting the struggle of the Iranian people calling for change by overthrowing Tehran’s regime.
