Linda Chavez, Chairwoman of the Center for Equal Opportunity and former Director of the Office of Public Liaison, praised the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK), an activist branch of the Resistance, and the National Council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ), which serves as a government-in-exile, for their commitment to the cause.
She said: “I want to salute you today for your courage and for your perseverance of the MEK and the NCRI. You are the ones who remain committed to freedom and to democracy for Iran and to eradicate the suppression, the terrorism, and the regime’s demonising campaign that has been directed at you. Your perseverance gives up hope that we shall in the end defeat the phenomena of Islamic fundamentalism, whose heart beats in the clerical regime in Iran. I wish you a good meeting and I wish that your message will be carried throughout the world.”

THOUSANDS OF IRANIANS AND INTERNATIONAL FIGURES AT FREE IRAN GATHERING
Dr. Majid Rafizadeh
Created: 08 July 2017
Thousands of Iranians gathered in the giant auditorium in Villepente Exhibition Center, just outside in a massive expression of support urging the world to adopt a firm approach toward the Iranian government. The gathering featured an array of speakers from all over the world and across the political spectrum, including Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal and a large delegation from the Syrian democratic opposition.
Iran’s media outlets, such as Royesh Melat, reacted by criticizing the gathering.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR IRAN?
Heshmat Alavi
forbes, JUL 6, 2017 - With developments regarding Iran and the Middle East on fast forward recently, voices are heard speaking of winds of change in Iran. Iran’s society, described as a powder keg due to social discontent, is literally simmering.
And after far too many years, the international community is gradually but surely realizing how appeasement will only yield further destruction.
Catapulting events further is Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s failure to engineer the recent presidential election to unify his regime for the tsunamis ahead.
Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi was the keynote speaker of a recent convention in Paris where she delivered a very different and new perspective on how to resolve the Iran dilemma.
We are also only a week away from July 14th, marking the second year of the Iran nuclear deal signing. Despite a windfall of over $100 billion dollars pouring into Iran, this agreement has failed to provide meaningful change in people’s lives.
And yet, Tehran has in fact allocated these funds to fuel turmoil across the Middle East, in Syria, Iraq,Yemen and beyond.
Returning to Iran’s milestone May 19th presidential “election”, Khamenei attempted to end his regime’s impasse by placing his weight behind conservative cleric Ebrahim Raisi in that race.
Considering Raisi’s notorious role in the 1988 massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners, and a massive campaign launched by activists of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran, Khamenei’s candidate stood no chance.

What terrifies Iran the most?
By: Keyvan Salami
Friday, July 7, 2017 4:45
The annual Iranian resistance gathering took place on July 1, 2017. Over 100,000 members of the Iranian Diaspora from all over the world participated in the event. In addition to Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of Iranian resistance as the keynote speaker, many prominent personalities form all over the world also delivered speeches. The main message of the meeting and its speakers was that the time has come for regime change in Iran.
In previous years, Iran, by putting a media blackout over the event, would ignore the resistances’ gathering. There is a well-known policy in Iran that publishing the name, picture or any news of Rajavi and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the main opposition of Iran, is a red line and prohibited. But this year, in an unprecedented manner this red line was ignored and in only three days over 500 news reports about the gathering were published in state run media, reflected the Iranian regime’s unprecedented fear.
The visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to France topped Tehran’s reaction to the event. Just a day prior Zarif went to Paris for the signing of a $5 billion dollar contract with the French oil giant Total.
The main purpose of Zarif’s trip was to ask the French government to cancel the resistance’s annual gathering, according to Iranian state media. One outlet even claimed the entire convention had been cancelled.
“In our talks with the French officials we raised the issue of the MEK and their presence as a vague point in our relationship,” Zarif said while departing France.
Now the question is why Iran is so terrified of the annual Iranian resistance gathering, and what can be concluded about their hysterical reaction about this event.

“I think that what’s happening is the [Iranian] regime is getting weaker,” Gingrich told Breitbart News at the annual “Free Iran” rally, organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) near Paris on Saturday.
“I think it’s getting more desperate, I think it’s alienating more and more young people, and I would not at all be surprised to see a new round of resistance in the next three to four years.”
He added, “You’re going to have a Trump administration [that is] eager to be helpful. And with people like Secretary [James] Mattis and National Security Advisor McMaster–people who understand in a realistic way the nature of the Iranian dictatorship.”

Giulliani Shows Support for Iranian Resistance at Free Iran Rally
The Media Express, July 6, 2017 - Throughout his long political career, Rudy Giulliani has spoken out against the Iranian regime. America’s mayor of New York during the terrorist attacks in 2001, Giulliani has repeatedly condemned the Iranian regime for its exporting of terrorism throughout the region and the world.
He has been supporting the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) for many years, encouraging the resistance in its efforts to gain international support. Prior to this year’s “Free Iran” gathering, Giulliani met with the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.
During his speech at the rally, Giulliani made a few key points regarding the policies of the Western nations toward the Iranian regime.
“It has been a long road and there are still a few miles to travel,” said Giulliani. “There have been over 120,000 that have been martyred and they are why we are where we are today.” He also complimented the leadership of President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the NCRI.
He also praised the combined efforts that allowed the MEK members to leave Iraq to Albania, thus getting them out of harm’s way.

Regional support
“The Iranian people are the first victims of Khomeini’s dictatorship,” said Turki Al-Faisal. “Your effort in challenging this regime is legitimate and your resistance for the liberation of the Iranian people of all ethnicities, including Arabs, Kurds, Balochis, Turks and Fars of the mullahs’ evil, as Mrs. Rajavi said, is a legitimate struggle.”

Women lead the force for change for a free Iran
The annual gathering of the Iranian opposition for a free Iran convened in Villepinte, Paris, in the afternoon of Saturday, July 1, 2017, lasting for 10 hours.
Tens of thousands of supporters and hundreds of distinguished personalities, elected representatives and activists for human and women’s rights activists from U.S., Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and Australia participated in the rally in solidarity for a free Iran.
Speakers stressed regime change as the only viable solution not only for a free Iran but to end the crisis in the Middle East and terrorism and extremism.
Keynote speaker the Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi underlined in her speech the three fundamental truths which are significant to obtaining freedom for Iran and establishing peace and tranquility in the Middle East.
Maryam Rajavi said, “The winds of change have started blowing in our homeland. The ruling regime is in disarray and paralyzed as never before. Iranian society is simmering with discontent and the international community is finally getting closer to the reality that appeasing the ruling theocracy is misguided. The same volatile situation speaks to three fundamental truths for obtaining freedom in Iran, and peace and tranquility in the region. First, the imperative of overthrowing the ruling religious dictatorship. Second, the regime’s overthrow is within reach. And third, a democratic alternative and an organized resistance exists, which is capable of toppling the theocracy in Iran.”
Mrs. Rajavi addressed women and youths in Iran as well as other sectors to rise up and erect 1000 bastions of rebellion to overthrow the religious dictatorship and bring freedom, justice and equality to the nation.
Are the winds of change blowing in Iran?
Thursday, 6 July 2017
Tens of thousands of supporters of Iran’s main opposition group, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), gathered in a massive convention hall in Villepinte, Paris over the weekend to call on the international community to back the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations and recognize the NCRI as a real alternative to the mullahs’ theocracy.
The grand gathering of Iranians, which takes place in Paris every year, was this year attended by more than 50 parliamentary delegations from all around the world including the US and Middle East as well as the former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, the former Chairman of the US Democratic Party and former Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, John R. Bolton, member of the European Parliament, Gérard Deprez and many prominent political dignitaries.
The keynote speaker at the event was NCRI-president, Mrs Maryam Rajavi. In her speech that was also broadcast inside Iran, she underscored that “regime change [in Iran] is within reach because the mullahs have gotten themselves stuck in three wars of attrition in the Middle East.
Their withdrawal from these conflicts in whatever form or shape will undermine their own existence.” In the US an Iran policy remains unclear but it is obvious that the current White House does not want to appease the Iranian regime.
