The Middle East has been topping headlines recently as ISIS is being defeated in both Iraq and Syria, and Iran is playing a significantly destructive role in both campaigns and across the region.
All the while, the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is gearing up for its massive annual convention in Paris. The July 1strally will be the stage of hundreds of prominent figures from four corners of the globe and most likely over 100,000 members of the Iranian Diaspora expressing support for the NCRI President Maryam Rajavi’s and her ten-point-plan platform for a future Iran without the mullahs.
I had a chance recently to sit down and talk with Shabnam Madadzadeh, a young Iranian woman and former political prisoner who just recently was able to exit Iran. She has written articles and delivered remarks in different events shedding light on Iran’s dungeons atrocious conditions.

Messages of Solidarity for a Free Iran From Brave MEK Prisoners

London, 30 Jun - Political prisoners have always embodied the aspirations and desires of their nations under the yoke of dictatorships. In Iran, too, political prisoners put their lives on the line to express what many people do not dare to express.
As the Iranian opposition is about to hold its greatest gathering ever in Villepinte, Paris, on Saturday, July 1, political prisoners have sent their messages of solidarity and support for the MEK and the Iranian opposition from inside their prisons.
One such prisoner is Mr. Ali Moezzi, 66. He was also a political prisoner in young age, in the 1980s for supporting the MEK. Now, his two daughters are with the MEK, and he has been imprisoned on and off several times since they joined the MEK in Ashraf.
In his message, he wrote, “This gathering echoes the cries of all the enchained people of Iran. It echoes the voice of the deprived, the toiling porters in Kurdistan, the voice of the Sunnis, our Baluchi compatriots, and everyone else. It manifests the pride of Iran and Iranians, it is the symbol of their organized resistance, the democratic alternative and the flag they have hoisted for resistance at any cost to achieve freedom.
“The Iranian people’s historic demands to reach a free and democratic Iran will never be forgotten. Demands such as a pluralist society with fundamental freedoms, separation of religion and state, rights of ethnic and religious minorities, gender equality…
“Mrs. Rajavi was right to say that our only asset is Resistance. She spoke of 1000 Ashrafs and of 1000 bastions of rebellion and resistance. She was right when she said no to the white turbans and the black turbans. Because any effort for a free Iran and a democratic future is not tolerated by the Velayat-e Faqih regime.
“Now, from the corner of this prison cell, I see myself with you and among you in the great and glorious gathering of this year in Paris on July 1. With pride and heart-felt love and hope, I hail each and every one of you who add to our nation’s asset of determination and faith. Hail to you, the delegations, the distinguished guests and hail to Maryam Rajavi, the shining sun and the great honor of Iran.”

Maryam Rajavi and Rudy Giuliani Meet at the NCRI Headquarters in France

 Friday, 30 June 2017 11:46
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), met Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Friday, June 30, at the NCRI headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise, northwest of Paris.

Mayor Giuliani pointed to the Iranian regime’s malign activities in the region, stressing that the mullahs are the source instability and crisis in the region, and have kept their grip on power in the past 38 years through widespread repression and blatant disregard for human rights at home and the export of extremism and terrorism abroad.
The former New York City Mayor emphasized that the Iranian regime has been the most active state sponsor of terrorism and Islamic extremism in the past three decades, and that Hassan Rouhani has been a key player in pursuing the regime’s ominous objectives, including in the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction. He said despite all the concessions unduly provided to the Tehran, the clerical regime is at a complete impasse and is extremely vulnerable in view of the economic crisis, domestic isolation and a growing power struggle.

'Free Iran' Activists Report Hundreds of Acts of Defiance Inside the Country

By Patrick Goodenough | June 29, 2017 | 4:15 AM EDT

(CNSNews.com) – Ahead of a large annual “Free Iran” gathering in Paris on Saturday, the exiled Iranian opposition movement says hundreds of incidents of risky expressions of support have been taking place inside Iran – from distribution of pamphlets to the appearance of posters and graffiti.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)/People’s Mujahedeen Organization of Iran (MEK) says hundreds of videos and photos of the incidents have been taken in dozens of towns and cities, and compiled a sample in a video clip.
Photos of NCRI leaders Maryam and Massoud Rajavi feature prominently, along with slogans which the NCRI translated as saying, among other things, “My vote regime change, down with Khamenei, our choice Maryam Rajavi.”
Such demonstrations are highly risky in Iran, a repressive state that has outlawed the NCRI/MEK as a “terrorist” group and executes hundreds of people each year for crimes including political and security offenses.
An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman on Wednesday referred to the group as a “hypocrite cult.”

Should IRGC Go on the Terror List?

 Iran Focus  27 June 2017
London, 27 Jun - When the Iranian Regime launched its failed missile attacks on ISIS militants in Deir ez-Zour, Syria, supposedly in retaliation for the recent terror attacks in Tehran, but failed to notify the US-backed troops who were fighting ISIS on the ground, it sent a message.
Iran doesn’t want to destroy terrorist organisations, indeed they back quite a few; they just want control of the Middle East.
Ramazan Sharif, a general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed as much when he spoke to the Regime-affiliated news media.
He said: “The Saudis and Americans are especially receivers of this message. Obviously and clearly, some reactionary countries of the region, especially Saudi Arabia, had announced that they are trying to bring insecurity into Iran.”
The Iranian Regime is the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world and its military is ‘armed to the teeth’, but it may be Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s private army, the IRGC, that poses the greatest threat to the rest of the world.
The IRGC, who answer to no one but Khamenei, has been at the heart of the most destructive campaigns by the Iranian Regime.
Zachary Keck, the former managing editor of The National Interest, wrote a piece on the Iranian Regime and its military arsenal in which he determined that the IRCG pose a credible threat to US security.
They run the illicit nuclear weapons programme, the ballistic missiles programme, and the terror training camps; all things that the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has warned the international community about so far in 2017.
This is why the IRGC should be designated a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO) by the US Government. If they choose to pursue putting the IRGC on the terror list, it would cut off a good deal of the IRGC’s funding and boost the Iranian Resistance’s ability to advocate for and achieve regime change.
If the US does not want to make regime change in Iran part of its public foreign policy, this would be a great compromise.
The Iranian Resistance, which includes groups like the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the MEK, and its elected leader Maryam Rajavi, currently serves as a government-in-exile. They have a ten-point plan to create an Iran for the 21st century including a non-nuclear Iran, without links to terrorism or terrorist groups.
On July 1, the Resistance is holding a Free Iran rally in Paris with over 100,000 dignitaries, politicians and activists in attendance. The Iranian people want change and the Resistance will provide that.

Iran's Desperate Deed Against, Increasing Popularity of MEK

27 June 2017

London, 27 Jun - What happened 29 years ago in Iran, and why after all these years, we are witnessing a crisis and a rising conflict among rival factions in the ruling class over that in Iran?
Throughout the summer of 1988 in Iran, some 30,000 political prisoners, the bulk of whom were MEK members or sympathizers, were executed. This year marks the 29th anniversary of that horrible Crime Against Humanity.
Last summer, an audio tape was revealed by the son of Hossein-Ali Montazeri. On August 9, 2016, the recording was heard for the first time, and thereon Khomeini’s former heir can be heard telling a gathering of members of the “Death Committee” that they're winding up a crime against humanity, 28 years ago, on august 15, 1988. Wrote M. Hakamian in INU on June 24, 2017 and the following are excerpts of the article.
The tape sent shockwaves through Iran, as it adds new knowledge of the breadth and scope of the massacre and confirms that it involved the highest levels of leadership. For more than two decades silence has been imposed in regards to the massacre because, you see, Iranian leaders who held positions of power at that time, members of the notorious Death Commission, are still in leadership positions today.
They have never faced justice for committing this horrific crime against humanity.
Hossein-Ali Montazeri, who was consequently dismissed as the heir by Khomeini, and subsequently spent the rest of his life under house arrest, for the very remarks heard on the audio tape, tells members of the Death Commission, who include Hossein-Ali Nayyeri, the sharia judge, Morteza Eshraqi, the prosecutor, Ebrahim Raeesi, deputy prosecutor, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi, representative of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), “The greatest crime committed during the reign of the Islamic Republic, for which history will condemn us, has been committed by you. Your (names) will in the future be etched in the annals of history as criminals.” He adds, “Executing these people while there have been no new activities (by the prisoners) means that … the entire judicial system has been at fault.”

THE MEK AND THE FREE IRAN RALLY

INU - Over 100,000 dignitaries, politicians and activists will gather in Paris this Saturday to support the Iranian people and their call for regime change in Iran at the Free Iran rally.
The annual rally, organised by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), has attracted supporters of the Resistance from around the world, as far afield as Saudi royalty, US lawmakers, and European national security experts.
The MEK is the biggest member group within the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a coalition of Resistance groups, which together serve as a government in exile in France.
MEK Beginnings
The MEK can be traced back over 40 years, before the fall of the Iranian Shah in 1979. They helped to overthrow Shah Reza Pahlavi’s in the hopes of establishing a democratic government who would rule on behalf of the Iranian people, however, this was not to be.
Ruhollah Khomenei and his supporters co-opted the popular revolution in order to further subjugate the people of Iran. They took over and established a theocracy, which imposes a fundamentalist reading of Islam onto the people, rather than a democracy that was needed.
The MEK spoke out against this, noting that the Iranian Regime was barely even paying lip service to democracy by holding sham elections and having Khomenei take over as Supreme Leader and essentially serve as the dictator of Iran.

Growing understanding of the viability of regime change in Iran

Wednesday, 28 June 2017

On July 1, the Iranian opposition will be holding its annual rally to give voice to the Iranian people and their popular resistance movement and to reiterate the call for regime change in Iran. This is, of course, a message reflecting the true desire of the Iranian people and is widely endorsed by policymakers around the world, as evidenced by the hundreds of dignitaries who will attend the event.
The “Free Iran” rally has significant implications for the policies being advanced around the world by persons with a clear understanding of the danger the Iranian regime poses to global security and the stability of the Middle East. This is especially important in the current historical moment, when assertive policies regarding the clerical regime in Iran are returning to the mainstream the world over.
The gathering, with the National Council of Resistance of Iran at its center, takes place at the Villepinte Exhibition Center outside of Paris, and brings together critics of the totalitarian theocracy, including those whom the regime has brutally suppressed in the past 38 years.
The NCRI represents the Iranian people who have been killed by the regime during that time, including 120,000 who were executed or assassinated simply for affiliation with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), which is now the largest constituent group in the NCRI coalition.
It also represents those people who have fled their home country in fear of suffering the same fate, and those who continue to live in Iran under religious dictatorship and support the PMOI (MEK) at great risk to themselves.
This year the gathering showcases messages from the network of MEK activists in Iran, using whatever means are at their disposal to advance the cause of regime change and the pro-democratic 10-point plan of NCRI President Maryam Rajavi.

MEK: The Opposition the Iranian Regime Wants to Silence

By Mahmoud Hakamian

For the Iranian regime, staying power means oppressing all voices that challenge their rule, particularly the human rights abuses and strict laws on everything from who you can socialize with to how you dress in public. Yet, one group has been the main focus of the regime’s efforts to suppress and undermine their voice in support of a free Iran. That group is the MEK.
When the MEK was removed from the U.S. list of terrorist groups, Iranian regime House Speaker Ali Larijni said during his speech on June 23, “Now it’s you (the United States) who are sponsor of terrorism and even mother of terrorism, yet you accuse the Iranian regime of sponsoring terrorism. Your accusations are shameful…Today, the Americans removed the MEK from their list of terrorist groups.”
News agencies, including the Fars agency under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have revealed the concerns of the regime over what they see as a dangerous turn of events, now that Camp Liberty’s residents have been relocated to Europe. On June 20, Fars reported that the move was a reminder of (MEK’s) declaring war against the regime.
After adding a few more claims against the MEK, the article went on to reveal the regime’s fear of another uprising, such as those that occurred in July 1999 and 2009. “The group’s (MEK’s) increased activities and their efforts for creating chaos and making a creeping coup was so intense over a period of time that many thought it was over for the regime on July 9, 1999. Their coordination was even further revealed during the 2009 uprising,” said the Fars news agency.
The press in Iran is controlled by the regime and the IRGC, so it is a source of frustration that thanks to satellite television, the opposition is able to expose the regime’s activities. These include the exposing of insecure, bankrupt institutions belonging to state entities, such as the IRGC, a move aimed at informing the Iranian people.

Free Iran Rally & the Role of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK)

26 June 2017
By Jubin Katiraie
A major gathering is being held at the Villepinte Exhibition Center outside of Paris, France. The gathering is focused on Iran policy and at the center of the case is the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. The People’s Mojahedin is also known by its Persian name, Mojahedin-e Khalq or MEK and it is the main constituent group in the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the leading coalition advocating for the cause of regime change driven by the Iranian people and their expatriate allies.
The Free Iran rally has been growing every year. The 2017 gathering is expected to keep pace with the previous few years, with upwards of 100,000 supporters of the MEK traveling to France from throughout the world. Naturally, the participants will mostly represent Iranian expatriate communities, but each year’s event also draws hundreds of politicians and foreign policy experts who recognize the global value of the MEK and the 10-point plan that NCRI President Maryam Rajavi has laid out for the future of Iran.
A Long Conflict between the Clerical Regime and the MEK
The origins of the MEK date back to before the 1979 Iranian Revolution., the MEK helped to overthrow the dictatorship of Shah Reza Pahlavi, but it quickly became a bitter enemy of the emerging the religious fascism under the pretext of Islamic Republic. To this day, the MEK and NCRI describe Ruhollah Khomenei and his associates as having co-opted a popular revolution in order to empower themselves while imposing a fundamentalist view of Islam onto the people of Iran.

Regime Change Appears Increasingly Attainable in Iran

By Ken Blackwell | June 26, 2017 | 11:27 AM EDT

Thirty years after President Reagan seized upon an historic opportunity to bring down the Iron Curtain, there are growing indications that President Trump can make similarly historic strides in the conflict between the U.S. and the new Evil of our time: Islamic extremism.
In its first five months, President Trump’s presidency has witnessed dramatic shifts from the policies normalized by the Obama administration. Few are as significant or wide-ranging as the changes in American dealings with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The new attitude enjoys rare bipartisan support in Congress, and with good cause. The conciliatory policy of Trump’s predecessor resulted in an ineffectual nuclear agreement and tens of billions of dollars in sanctions relief for a regime that remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.

Senate targets Iran in sweeping measures

By: Keyvan Salami

Despite its nature of acting mostly in a polarized manner, the US Senate witnessed Republicans and Democrats joining force to pass a bill of sweeping sanctions inflicting strong punishments against Iran involving a long slate of financial penalties.
The overwhelming 98-2 vote for the “The Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017” came on Thursday June 15, sending a clearly strong message to Tehran signaling the bipartisan alliance on taking measures against the mullahs’ belligerence inside and abroad. Iran’s ballistic missile program, support for terrorist groups and human rights violations are in the crosshairs of this sanctions package.
This bipartisan vote will be demanding major action from the Trump administration, especially after lawmakers in a recent hearing called on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization.

By Heshmat Alavi

How should we evaluate Iran’s medium-range missile strikes, boasted by the mullahs as an official response to the June 7th twin attacks allegedly staged by ISIS in Tehran? As a sign of strength showing Iran’s ability to take on ISIS while also sending a message to all adversaries, most importantly Washington? Or a desperate attempt by the mullahs to maintain a straight face against increasing domestic and foreign crises?
Iran last resorted to such drastic measures of launching ballistic missiles from its soil back in the final days of the Iran-Iraq war in 1988 after suffering major defeats, and once again in 2001 against former bases of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq in response to a vast opposition camp inside the country. This proves Tehran will fall to such lows when pinned against the wall as a last resort.

European MPs and VIPs to attend grand gathering in Paris calling for regime change in #Iran

 | June 26, 2017

Several hundred European parliamentarians and dignitaries from two dozen countries will attend the #FreeIran grand gathering in Paris on July 1. The event is also expected to attract tens of thousands of Iranian expatriates and their supporters. The participants will condemn the ongoing human rights violations in Iran, as well as Tehran’s meddlesome role in the conflict-torn region. Considering the recent events in Europe and elsewhere, the Iranian government’s role in training foreign fighters for terrorist attacks abroad, as well as its drive to acquire nuclear weapons will certainly be denounced.
The lawmakers represent a mix of political parties and viewpoints, but share a common view that Iran’s clerical regime has such disregard for human rights and democracy that regime change is indispensable to freedom in Iran and stability in the region. They will endorse the opposition movement spearheaded by Maryam Rajavi, as the best means of bringing about such change.
The legislators attending the Free Iran rally reflect the concern in European capitals about Tehran’s destructive policies, also shared by many Middle Eastern states. Political figures from the Middle East and other Muslim countries will also attend the convention and highlight alarm about the Iranian regime’s malign behavior in the region.
This year, the convention’s focus will be on the need for a united front against Islamic extremism, one of the prerequisites for resolving other urgent problems, such as instability in the Middle East. Speakers will endorse the well-organized opposition as a viable option that can make regime change in Iran a reality. There is a growing sentiment that the opposition coalition led by Mrs. Rajavi, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), represents a viable alternative to the ruling theocracy.
The main component of the NCRI, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), has an extensive network of activists in Iran, and is pursuing an agenda of regime change. The MEK network has stepped up its activities inside of Iran dramatically in recent months.

ISIS Attacks On Iran Should Make The Regime Reflect

Shahriar Kia

At a time when Iran is engulfed in a conglomerate of domestic and international crises, the regime witnessed two unexpected attacks by ISIS against its godfather in Tehran, marking the first such attack by the terror group on Iranian soil.
Parallel to denunciations from across the globe, the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran condemned the attack and warned of Tehran taking advantage of such a development.
NCRI President Maryam Rajavi strongly condemned the loss of innocent lives under any pretext.
“ISIS’s conduct clearly benefits the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Khamenei, who wholeheartedly welcomes it as an opportunity to overcome his regime’s regional and international impasse and isolation. The founder and the number one state sponsor of terror is thus trying to switch the place of the murderer and the victim and portray the central banker of terrorism as a victim,” Rajavi said.

Are U.S and Iran moving towards a military conflict?

freerepublic | Keyvan Salami
Posted on 2017-6-24 15:44:41 by Keyvan Salami

On June 19, Iran Launched 7 medium-range ballistic missiles targeting ISIS in Syria. The same day a US Navy Super Hornet shot down a Syrian Su-22. On June 20, a USAF F-15E blasted Iranian Shahed-129 armed drone out of the sky. The drone was shot down as it advanced toward the coalition-backed rebel outpost of At Tanf, near the southern Syrian border. In addition, Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, in a speech, harshly attacked the US and posted hostile tweets. “That US arms a terrorist group is what causes instability. Who created #ISIS? The US!... That the US joined the anti-ISIS coalition is a lie. They're against an unrestrained ISIS but agree with a controlled ISIS…US president accuses Iran of terrorism, while terrorism in this region has American roots…” The supreme leader twitted.
Now the question is if the U.S and Iran are moving towards a military conflict. Iran’s lobbies in the US are trying to say that any measure against Iran would lead to a new conflict in the Middle East, and the war is inevitable unless the West and especially the US recognizes Iran as a regional power and start to negotiate with it, and give its share of the pie. In short, continue the appeasement policy of Obama with Iran. But looking deep in Khamenei’s statements, and also to Iran’s propaganda indicates that the issue is not a new conflict, but on the contrary to contain the main source of conflict in the Middle East, namely Iran and its proxy wars in the Middle East. Iran is terrified of an external and an internal threat, and all their actions and rhetoric are the spinoff of this fear. The external threat is the US-Arab coalition against Iran’s meddling in the region, and the internal threat is the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), Iran’s main opposition organization. For 8 years Iran enjoyed the appeasement policy of Obama administration, allowing it to pursue its aggressive policy in abroad, and suppression of its people inside the country. The “Golden years” of Obama is over, an international coalition of Iran’s neighboring countries and US are united to stop Iran’s export of terrorism, and the MeK supporters, have expanded their activates inside Iran. On June 15, 2017 the Senate passed a Bill for more sanctions against Iran and its ballistic missile program. Iran’s officials called the new sanctions as the “mother of sanctions”, referring to the “mother of bombs” which US tested last month in Afghanistan. The new sanctions are the first practical measures of new policy, and the Mullahs ruling in Iran are feeling that the West means business. On the other hand millions of Iranians inside Iran are eager to see the results of the annual gathering of Iranian opposition on July 1st in Paris. The MeK supporters inside Iran have been informing the people about this gathering. In the annual gathering of the MeK over 100000 Iranians from all over the world gather to discuss their mandate, and a number of international officials from the US, Europe and Islamic countries also participate in the program. Launching ballistic missiles, and all the hostile rhetoric of Iran’s officials are in reaction to their critical internal and international situation. These are not neither signs of war, nor signs of a powerful regime, but on the contrary these are signs of a weak regime trying to hide its weakness by resonating show of power in order to save itself from the deadly crisis they are surrounded. The end result is that if we want to prevent another war in the Middle East, the key is not appeasing Iranian regime, but to put more pressure on the regime and support their opposition.

Scope of Iranian Missile Program Exposed

Iranian ballistic missile tests are seen as blatant evidence that the regime there continues to pursue nuclear weapons and the Iranian resistance is now detailing the scope and aggressiveness of the missile program.
On Tuesday, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, or NCRI, unveiled new evidence to explain that far from Iran ratcheting down it’s threat to the Middle East and the world, it has been accelerating its effort ever since it became clear the West was committed to making a deal back in 2015.
“Tehran had decided (before the the nuclear deal was finalized) to step up their efforts on the missile side of their rogue behavior, namely expanding both the production of the missiles but their readiness to deploy them and make them operational,” said Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the NCRI’s U.S. office.
Jafarzadeh says the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, is taking a bigger role in the missile program through the Aerospace Force.
